Eyebrows are arguably the most important facial feature. If you're not satisfied with the ones you have, there are so many ways to update them, including brow gel, pencils, and even tattooing. But now there's a very natural option that delivers semi-permanent results. Ladies, we'd like to introduce you to microblading. Unlike the sometimes Sharpie-esque effects of permanent makeup, microblading is more of an embroidery of trompe l'œil strokes that look just like real hairs.
Nadia Afanaseva, microblading expert and trainer at Eye Design New York gave us the 411 on the unique service, and after our talk there's no surprise why so many women love it. "Microblading is perfect for those who want to fully reconstruct, define, cover gaps, or fill-in over plucked brows," she explained. The professional lash and eyebrow expert also revealed that those who just want to add a slight arch are also great candidates, and the results are a natural, undetectable fringe.
If you're still not sure how the technique differs from tattooing, Afanaseva explained that "during the microblading process we use a special microblading pen to draw on individual strokes one by one." It's an extremely meticulous process that takes around two hours to complete. Since the results will last for up to three years before beginning to fade it's good to know that the technicians pay so much attention to detail. "The first hour we’re drawing the shape in with removable pencil. That’s the longest part and the most important step. During this time, the best customized shape for every client is chosen." The pro advises clients to be cautious of places that claim to complete the process in one hour. "It's not a rushed procedure, it cannot be done in an hour."
Before the microblading begins, a topical numbing cream is applied to the area to minimize discomfort, followed by a liquid anesthetic. If you're worried that the process is painful, Afanaseva assures, "some clients may feel a slight discomfort, but it's relatively painless."

The best part about the technique is that there is no down time. Your new set of brows will be ready for a selfie immediately after the process. The pro, however, does recommend a follow-up one month after your appointment. "The healing process is different for everyone, and it takes between 25 and 30 days. After a month we recommend a 40-minute touch-up to most customers."
"Unlike eyebrow extensions, which you have to be careful about maintaining, microblading is low maintenance. After healing, you can rub them and enjoy swimming. No special care is required, except for a brief touch-up once a year." The smudge-proof solution will cost you anywhere between $700 and $800. But waking up every morning with perfect brows may totally be worth it.

Professional Peels, Microdermabrasion and Micro-Needling, are not one-size-fits-all types of skin.
Each tackles different issues and has varying degrees of recovery time. At Salon Estique we offer Peels, Microdermabrasion Micro-Needling and Dermaplane services.
Skin Challenge: Acne-Dullness-Enlarged Pores
A light Peel is for more superficial problems, glycolic, lactic or salicylic acid exfoliate the surface without irritation. A cocktail of two or three of these can address multiple issues at one. To boost radiance, clean pores to reduce the size a glycolic and a salicylic acid can be used. But you must be vigilant with sun protection.
Superficial peels are not a one and done deal. In and the ideal world a client would have a light peel/dermabrasion every 4-6 weeks to maintain a glow. For acne, a series of 4-6 peels spaced two weeks apart are recommended. If you feel your skin is looking dull, now the time to seek treatment.
*Micro-Needling is a form of Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT) and is considered to be a non-ablative treatment for the skin. This treatment means that the deep layers of the skin are being treated without the need to remove the top layer that is often done with other cosmetic skin procedures. Micro-needling works for skin conditions such as fine lines and wrinkles, scarring caused by acne or photodamage, to treat uneven skin tone and can dramatically reduce the appearance of large pores.
*Growth Factors The main task of human growth factors is to cause cell division and multiplication. Growth factors stimulate collagen production, and epidermal growth factor stimulates skin cell production. These are used along with Micro-Needling.
*Dermaplaning provides exfoliation and hair removal all in one treatment while dramatically increasing product penetration leaving skin with a bright, youthful glow.

HAIR GLAZE (20% off In August use promo code BLGLAZE)
What exactly does it do? How is it different than hair color? Moreover, why is everyone getting them?
In Phoenix, it is about hair glaze treatments for many reasons which include, color trends, extreme heat, and the sun. Here are some reasons that make a hair glaze something you should consider.
1. A glaze will repair summer damage you have. It repairs your hair and undoes all that damage, so your hair feels a lot better. Glaze will deep condition your hair for ultimate softness and shine.
2. A glaze is not permanent hair color. The glaze is very acidic does not penetrate the cuticle of the hair and in fact, closes the hair cuticle. The result is a smooth texture that will reflect light and feel much softer.
3. A glaze provides translucent color and intense conditioning. Glaze will enhance any variation of tone that you hair naturally has, allowing for a more subdued shade. If you have gray hair, and you put a gloss on, it will have a very tonal effect as opposed to one solid opaque color. It also makes your hair super shiny and silky. It will even reduce a little bit of frizz, and overall, your hair feels like you had a conditioning treatment.
4. It can help tone down highlights. Highlights can look brassy or green by the end of summer; we recommend getting a glaze treatment to tone unwanted brassiness or to adjust the color.
5. You do not have to change your natural hair color to get the benefits of a glaze. Try a clear glaze, which is essentially a powerhouse conditioning treatment.
6. It is no-commitment change. A great thing about it is there’s no commitment, and it is going to fade on its own (within six weeks). Moreover, if you want to change your hair, it does not interfere with any type of chemical service you want to do in the future
7. It is easy to maintain. All you need to do is use sulfate-free professional products that are made for colored hair, and you should be ok.
8. It is on target for fall 2016. This season’s hair trends will be rich tones. If you’re a brunette, go for a rich honey or espresso brown. If you’re a redhead, try a deep copper or auburn. Moreover, if you’re a blonde, opt for "bronde" or dark blonde.
This style works well on day old hair, if you need more volume and texture, start by spraying Oribe dry texturing spray throughout.
This will give you fullness without a stiff feeling. Next add volume to the crown by backcombing a few sections and pin in place to create a bump. If you prefer a sleek look, skip this step. Now create a loose low ponytail. No need to make it too perfect— embrace the messiness!
Next, create the bun! First, part the hair into three sections. Next, wrap one section around the base of the ponytail and secure it with a bobby pin. Grab the second section and wrap it in the opposite direction of the previous section and pin it in place. You can stack these sections on top of each other. Don’t worry if any pieces are sticking out; you can go back and tuck them in later.
For the last section of the hair wrap it around the entire bun, pushing upwards. Secure it with a few more bobby pins and you are done! Follow with a little Oribe Superfine Spray to keep everything in place. Gently pull out a few face-framing pieces to keep the look effortless.

Micro-needling (also known as collagen induction therapy) is a minimally invasive treatment to rejuvenate the skin. A device with fine needles creates tiny punctures in the top layer of the skin, which triggers the body to create new collagen and elastin. Results can include improved texture and firmness, as well as a reduction in scars, pore size, and stretch marks.
What is Micro-Needling?
The Eclipse MicroPen uses a sterile needle-tip containing 12 tiny micro-needles to create controlled micro-injuries to the skin. This initiates the skin’s repair process to naturally produce collagen and elastin, ideal for smoothing fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, traumatic scars, and stretch marks. Micro-channels created by the treatment allow for optimal absorption of topical products and Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP), enhancing their effects in the deeper layers of skin.
What does it feel like?Micro-Needling feels similar to sandpaper being moved across the skin. Topical numbing may be applied prior to your procedure, but no anesthesia or medications are necessary.
What can I expect after a Micro-Needling procedure?
The skin will be red and flushed, similar to a mild to moderate sunburn, for 12 hours to 3 days. You may also experience mild swelling, tightness, and/or mild peeling. Side effects are temporary and typically resolve within 3 days. Total healing time depends on the depth of the treatment, skin type, and skin condition, and some patients may heal completely in 24 hours.
When will I see the results?Clients typically notice an immediate glow, but visible improvement will take about 2-4 weeks and can continue for up to 6 months.
How many treatments will I need?A series of 3-6 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart is ideal for optimal results. Some conditions like deep wrinkles, advanced photo-aging, stretch marks, and acne scars may need 6-8 treatments.
Widely considered to be one of the most effective treatments for improving the overall appearance of the skin. Micro-Needling is a form of Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT) and is considered to be a non-ablative treatment for the skin. This means that the deep parts of the skin are being treated without the need to remove the top layer that is often done in other cosmetic skin treatments. Micro-needling works for skin conditions such as fine lines and wrinkles, scarring caused by acne or photo damage, to treat uneven skin tone and can dramatically reduce the appearance of large pores.
*Growth Factors are often added to this treatment, the main task of human growth factors is to cause cell division and multiplication. Growth factors stimulate collagen production and epidermal growth factor stimulates skin-cell production.
